relative pitch - tuning an instrument to itself or tuning one instrument to another. If there is no access to a tuner such as an electronic tuner, tuning fork or digital piano you can tune to a random tone. In most cases a guitar may have only one or two strings which are not in tune so you can tune those to the majority of strings which are in tune.
royalties - songs or music can be registered with a collection agency such as SOCAN, ASCAP and BMI. These companies monitor media like radio and television as well as live performances in certain types of concerts and live venues for music that has been registered and will collect fees for any performance of these songs. This type of royalties are called performing rights and are usually divided 50/50 for the author/composer and publisher.
reciprocal agreements - Here is an explanation by SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music publishers). A reciprocal agreement is basically a two-way agreement.  At SOCAN, we have reciprocal agreements with over 100 different performing rights organizations (PROs) around the world.  These agreements allow foreign societies to administer your repertoire in their territories and send all royalties earned by you to SOCAN. SOCAN then pays the monies directly to you. In return, we do the same for them in our territory. SOCAN is one of only a few PROs around the world that does not take overhead off your incoming foreign royalties.
