quantize - many recording programs and workstation types of keyboards have a quantize function which allows you to correct timing problems. You can set the quantizer at the different time values such as quarter notes, eighth notes, sixteenths and thirtyseconds. The function will place any off time note you play to the nearest correct placement of that note.
quarter note - music notation designated by a slanting solid oval with a stem going up from the right side or going down from the left side. A quarter note has a temporal value of one beat. A measure in 4/4 time would have four quarter notes or their equivalent.
