notation - notes, music, a system of writing music using five lines and four spaces called a staff or stave. The addition of ledger lines are used for notes above and below the staff. Each line of the staff represents notes beginning from bottom to top, E,G, B, D,and F. Each space from the bottom up represent notes F, A, C, E. The staff is divided into measures and the measures divided into a whole with whole notes, halves with half notes, quarters with quarter notes, eighths with eighth notes, sixteenths with sixteenth notes and thirty seconds with thirty second notes.
natural minor scale - begins with the sixth note of a key and progresses up or down the same notes of that key. For example, in the key of C you play, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and octave A.
natural sign - natural signs are used in music notation when a sharp or flat note needs to be play as a natural note. For example, in the key of G, all F notes are sharp. A natural sign would be used where an F is to be played as a natural F.
